Robert James Jewelry began with two things that have always been a big part of our lives: creativity and connection. I'm Linda, Robert's mom. I've always been drawn to beautiful things - fashion, accessories, color, design, and those little details that make something feel special. That love of creativity eventually became a career in graphic design, but I've never stopped enjoying the simple pleasure of making something with my hands.
And then there's Robert. Robert is my son, my inspiration, and the heart behind Robert James Jewelry. He has Down syndrome, an incredible personality, a love of music and dancing, and a way of reminding me that sometimes the things we create together mean far more than the finished product.
Over the years, Robert has inspired so much of my life, including more than 30 years of volunteering and giving back to organizations that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through him, I learned about acceptance, inclusion, gratitude, and the importance of giving people opportunities to participate, contribute, and be proud of what they accomplish.
Robert James Jewelry grew naturally from that. Together, we create jewelry using freshwater pearls, gemstones, gold accents, charms, and other beautiful materials that catch our eye. I may begin with the design idea, but Robert is part of the process helping assemble pieces, choosing combinations, and adding his own personality along the way.
We especially love creating pieces that feel a little unexpected - beautiful pearls mixed with gemstones, interesting textures, meaningful charms, and designs that don't look like everything else. Many of our pieces are made in small quantities, and some are truly one of a kind. We want each piece to feel personal, something you reach for because it simply makes you feel good when you wear it.
But this little business is about more than jewelry. It's about creativity, purpose, working together, and celebrating what people can do when they're given the opportunity. When you purchase a piece from our shop, you're supporting a small mother-and-son business and becoming a small part of our story.

Our mission is to create beautiful handmade jewelry while celebrating the creativity and contributions of people with Down syndrome. Through the work Robert and I do together, we hope to inspire others, create opportunities, and encourage greater understanding and inclusion.

We envision a world where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are recognized for their talents, welcomed as contributors, and given every opportunity to pursue what brings them joy and purpose.
